Salford-born Ogbeta came through Manchester City's academy after joining the club at the age of 10. He made his first appearance for the under-18 side in May 2017 during a 4-2 victory over Reading before progressing to make six appearances for the under-21s in the Football League Trophy during the 2018-19 season. After being limited to only a handful of further appearances in the competition, he joined League One side Shrewsbury Town on an 18-month contract in January 2021. He made his debut in a 2-0 home victory over Peterborough United and, enjoying a consistent run of first-team football for the first time in his career, went on to make 27 appearances and score twice during the remainder of the season.
Ogbeta continued to impress during the 2021-22 campaign, making 35 appearances for Shrewsbury before joining Swansea City for an undisclosed fee in January 2022. He made his debut for the Swans in March before receiving his first call-up to England's under-20 squad, featuring in a 3-1 victory over Germany at Colchester. A loan move to League One side Peterborough United followed in January 2023, where he made 20 appearances and scored once, in a 2-0 home win over Derby County.
At the start of the 2023-24 season, Ogbeta joined Bolton Wanderers on a season-long loan and scored on his debut in a 4-1 victory at Carlisle United. He made a further 16 appearances for the Trotters, the last of which came at Wembley as Bolton were beaten by Oxford United in the League One play-off final.
Released by Swansea at the end of the 2023-24 season, Ogbeta joined Argyle in July 2024 as the summer transfer window opened. He made his debut under Wayne Rooney at Hillsborough on the opening day of the season. Used sparingly rather than establishing himself as a regular, he scored his first Argyle goal in January 2025, a last-minute equaliser in a 2-2 Championship draw away to Sunderland.
Following another managerial change at Home Park, Ogbeta joined League One side Barnsley on a season-long loan at the start of the 2025-26 campaign. He made 30 appearances for the Tykes before returning to Argyle.
At the end of his contract, Ogbeta was included on the club's released list following the conclusion of the 2025-26 season in order to pursue opportunities elsewhere.
In July 2026, he signed for Madeira-based Portuguese club CS Maritimo.
