Given a sniff of first team action by Peter Shilton in the 1992-93 season, local lad Marcus Crocker followed fellow strikers Owen Pickard, Paul Adcock and Mickey Evans in making the step up to the first team in the early 1990s. But like Pickard and Adcock before him, Crocker was destined to leave Home Park for a career at a more lowly level. He made three starts in the relegation season of 1994-95, and ten appearances in total over three years at Home Park, but he failed to find the net and was released in the summer of 1995. He drifted into non-league football, first with Dorchester Town, and then with St Blazey, Plymouth Parkway, Tavistock and Newquay.
