Born in Kingston upon Hull, Bradley joined his hometown club as a seven-year-old and made his way through the Hull City youth ranks. After a loan at Harrogate Town in late 2010 and a spell with Swedish side IK Frej the following spring, he earned his first professional contract at Hull for the 2011-12 season.
Bradley made his Football League debut whilst on a three-month loan at Aldershot in early 2012, after which he played twice for Hull in the Championship at the end of that campaign. Returning to Aldershot for a full-season loan a few months later, he accumulated a total of 62 appearances for the Hampshire club before being released by Hull at the end of 2012-13 season.
He soon signed a deal with League Two Portsmouth, having turned down interest from Championship and League One clubs. After a season at Fratton Park, he joined League One Crawley Town in July 2014 and racked up 79 appearances in two seasons, the second as captain.
Having turned down the offer of a new contract with the West Sussex side, the 24-year-old completed a 'team' of new players to arrive at Home Park in the summer of 2016 - eleven new signings (ten fresh faces) in a little over three weeks as Derek Adams readied his Argyle squad for the League Two season ahead.
The heavily-tattooed Bradley became a popular selection at the heart of Argyle's defence over the next two seasons, and was named the club's Player of the Year for the promotion-winning 2016-17 campaign, as well being named in both the EFL Team of the Season and PFA Team of the Season. He was also a regular recipient of the "Magic Hat" song, as was very en vogue with supporters.
At the end of his second season he was offered a new deal to extend his stay at Argyle, but a number of clubs expressed an interest, and at the start of June 2018 he confirmed on social media that he would be leaving Home Park, on the same day that Argyle signed former Rochdale centre-back Niall Canavan. Bradley was unveiled a week later at Luton Town, newly promoted from League Two and Argyle's rivals in League One for 2018-19.
Bradley spent five seasons at Kenilworth Road, where he helped Luton to promotion to the Championship in his first year, followed by four seasons of second-tier football. In total he played 175 times and scored six goals for the Hatters. He was released by the club at the end of the 2022-23 season, which culminated in their Championship Final Play-Off win that took them back to England's top-flight after an absence of 31 years. However, Bradley's departure had been announced ahead of the play-off final and he was not part of the squad at Wembley.
In July 2023 he moved to Derby County of League One on a free transfer, and similarly to his signing at Luton, helped County from League One to the Championship in his first season, playing 41 times and scoring three goals. He remained at Pride Park ahead of Derby's season back in the Championship ahead of the 2024-25 season. With Derby struggling back in the Championship, he found himself used sporadically and in the second half of the season, joined League One side Wycombe Wanderers on loan until the end of that season.
In total he played 21 times for the Chairboys, scoring once before returning to Derby at the end of the season. He was then released by the Rams having made 50 appearances, scoring three, across two seasons.
In August 2025 he moved to League Two Lincoln City on a two-year deal, helping them to promotion to the Championship at the end of the 2025-26 season. He was also named the club's Player of the Season.
