Came from: Bolton Wanderers Went to: Bolton Wanderers

Kellett came to Home Park on a one month loan deal with Bolton Wanderers in October 2014 to bolster the left wing-back position. Born in Bolton, he graduated through the Trotters' youth ranks to sign professional forms in July 2012 after winning the club's Academy Player of the Year award. Kellett made his Football League debut at the age of 20 in the first of three substitute appearances in the final fortnight of the 2013-14 season, the first hometown player to make the step-up to Bolton's first team for eight years.
Having posted a series of impressive performances whilst with Argyle, with some notable attacking play from the wing-back position, his loan spell was extended for a second and then third month. In December Kellett scored his first Football League goal, a remarkable solo effort that was voted Argyle's best goal of 2014, in a 2-3 win at Northampton Town. He returned to Bolton in mid-January 2015, but having never met the new Wanderers manager, Neil Lennon, and with John Sheridan keen to extend his loan spell until the end of the season, hopes were high for a speedy return. However, doubts crept in when he was given his first start for Bolton only ten days after his return to the North West.
With fellow loanee Anthony O'Connor having returned on the last day of the January 2015 transfer window and Bobby Reid having re-joined the week before, it was still hoped that Kellett would come back to complete a hat-trick of returning loanees. A major surprise came late into the evening of the last day of the window - Monday 2nd February - when, in a move that ignited social media, it was announced that Kellett had moved to Manchester United in a loan deal until the end of the season to provide cover for United's under-21 squad (coached by former Argyle midfielder Warren Joyce). Some clubs you just cannot compete with ...
Kellett made ten appearances for United's under-21s during his loan spell, including a 1-0 Manchester Senior Cup semi-final defeat away to his parent club, Bolton. Having returned to Wanderers after his loan spell, he then signed a three-year contract with neighbours Wigan Athletic in September 2015, moving for an undisclosed fee.
His time at the JJB Stadium was impacted by injury, and in August 2017 he was allowed to join League Two Chesterfield on a season-long loan (36 games, 4 goals). He was released by Wigan at the end of the 2017–18 season, having played just 17 times (two goals) in his three years with the Lancashire club.
In May 2018, Kellett signed for Notts County in League Two on a two-year contract. He played 16 times and scored once but left by mutual consent in August 2019, after not featuring in County's plans at the start of their National League season, following the club's relegation from the Football League.
His next move was to AFC Fylde on a short-term contract in December 2019, before signing for Alfreton Town in March 2020 and then Guiseley that summer. After three seasons in West Yorkshire, Kellett elected to move closer to home in June 2023, signing for ambitious North West Counties Premier League side Bury, the reformed phoenix club that were expelled from the Football League due to financial irregularities in August 2019, and which merged with Bury AFC that summer.
