N'Gala initially joined Argyle on a short-term loan from West Ham United, the club with which he began his career. A one-month loan with Scunthorpe United followed, prior to his move to Home Park.
After impressing during his six-week loan spell, and with his contract at West Ham not renewed, he agreed a deal to join Argyle on a permanent basis in the summer of 2010. The following season saw N'Gala become a regular member of the first team, playing at both full-back and centre-back, but minor injuries kept him out of the team for short spells. In July 2011, with a year still left on his contract but the club in administration, he was allowed to sign for Yeovil Town on a free transfer. In his only season at Huish Park he made 35 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice, and then in July 2012 he returned closer to London to sign for Stevenage. In the February of the following season N'Gala was loaned to Barnet, for whom he played six times in his one-month stay, but Stevenage decided not to take up the option of another year and he left the club when his contract expired in May 2013, having made 28 appearances for them over two seasons.
In August 2013 N'Gala signed a one-month deal with Portsmouth, which was later extended until the January. He played 27 times and scored three goals but was not offered a new contract and left the club in June 2014. A month later he returned to London to sign for Barnet again, and established a regular place in the Conference Premier side.
