Stacey was an England amateur international who played for Carshalton Athletic, and a former member of the Chelsea youth team, before arriving at Home Park in 1959. He made a bright start to his Argyle career, playing regularly at full-back during his first six months with the club, but after losing his place made only a handful of appearances over the following two-and-a-half years. He moved on to Watford in 1962 but did not play for the first team before joining Gillingham a year later. After two seasons at Priestfield he moved into non-league football with Margate.

Terry is a good friend of mine and now lives just outside Totnes. Unfortunately he now suffers from dementia.
