Back to GoS-DB Hub Find Another Player WILF CARTER Born: 04 October 1933 Came from: West Bromwich Albion Went to: Exeter City First game: 24 August 1957 Last game: 31 March 1964 Appearances: 275 (275/0) Goals: 148 Carter had failed to make much of an impression during his time with West Bromwich Albion and he jumped at the chance to join Argyle in 1957. He scored 32 goals in his first season with the club and went on to top the scoring charts for the next five years. He created history when playing against Charlton in 1960 by becoming the first Argyle player to score five goals in one game. Despite lacking great technical ability, Carter possessed the knack of scoring goals, and he would try his luck from anywhere on the pitch. Carter left Argyle for Exeter City in 1964 and ended his career with the Grecians. APPEARANCE DETAILS [Reselect Competitions] The details below reflect appearances in all first-team competitions. |
