Full Name: Juvhel Fred Tsoumou
Born: 27 December 1990
Came from: Preston North End Went to: Preston North End
First game: 04 February 2012 Last game: 05 May 2012

Tsoumou was born in Brazzaville in the Republic of the Congo, but moved to Germany at the age of ten. He began his career in the youth system of FSV Zwickau, moving on to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2003. After three years in Eintracht’s academy he moved to Blackburn Rovers for a season, returning to Frankfurt in 2007.
The striker made his first team league debut in September 2008 and added a further nine appearances over the next two years. He is still fondly remembered for his only Bundesliga goal, a precious equaliser against mighty Bayern Munich in 2010 as the Eagles came from behind to stun the record German champions. Tsoumou also played for the under-23 reserve side in the Regionalliga Sud, making 29 appearances and scoring 5 goals between 2008 and 2010 and during this period won caps for Germany at under-18 and under-19 levels.
In August 2010 Tsoumou joined Alemannia Aachen, for whom he played just six times before being released. In July 2011 he played in a pre-season friendly for Sheffield Wednesday before joining Preston North End following a successful two-week trial. He featured regularly for the Lilywhites throughout the first half of the 2011-12 campaign, at one point scoring four times in five matches, before moving at the same time as Alex MacDonald to Home Park (transfer deadline day) in a loan deal for the remainder of the season.
Tsoumou struggled to find the net during his time at Home Park, and after returning to Preston at the end of the campaign, had his contract cancelled by mutual consent. His nomadic existence continued with a season at TSV Hartberg in Austria’s second-tier, before a spell in Slovakia’s first division with FK Senica. Still aged only 23, he returned to Germany in November 2014 and signed for fourth-tier SV Waldhof Mannheim in the Regionalliga Sudwest. He made 17 appearances, almost all from the bench, scoring once before being released at the end of the 2014–15 Regionalliga season.
In September 2015 Tsoumou then joined Argyle's one-time pre-season opponents, SV Wacker Burghausen, in the Regionalliga Bayern - one of Germany's five regional fourth tiers.
After an impressive 29 goals in 55 appearances for Burghausen, he moved to Ermis Aradippou of the Cypriot First Division in the latter part of 2017. Having been capped by Germany at youth level (twice for the under-18s in 2008 and three times at under-19 level the following year) he was pre-selected by the Republic of the Congo in May 2017. He then made his full international debut for the Congo in a 1-1 World Cup qualification tie with Ghana on 1 September 2017.
